This Zaatar and Cheese focaccia bread recipe is soft, fluffy and so easy to make.

Who doesn’t love an easy, homemade focaccia bread! My whole family love it and I actually pack it in my kids school lunches with hummus or baba ghanouj on the side. The cool thing is Even a first-time baker could pull this off without breaking much of a sweat.


This Zaatar and Cheese focaccia bread recipe is soft, fluffy and so easy to make.

Ingredients:


  • 4 Cups all purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 3/4 Luke water

  • 1/4 cup zaatar

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

Directions:


  • In a large bowl, stir together the flour, salt, and yeast. Mix in the olive oil and water.


  • When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead until smooth and elastic. Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl, and turn to coat with oil. Cover with a damp cloth, and let rise at room temperature for 10-12 hours. Dough should double in size.

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees, slowly pour dough down; place on greased baking sheet. Pat into a 1/2 inch thick rectangle. Let it rest for 2-3 hours.


  • Brush top with olive oil, the. Fully press fingers into the dough.


  • Scatter za'atar seasoning over the dough. Top with Shredded mozzarella cheese.


  • Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes before slicing.
