This quick and easy chicken shawarma tacos recipe is one the whole family will love.

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs

  • ½ cup olive oil

  • 5 garlic cloves, grated

  • ¼ cup of fresh lemon juice

  • • 2 teaspoons paprika

  • • 2 teaspoons salt

  • • 2 teaspoons ground cumin

  • • 1 teaspoon sumac

  • • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom

  • • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Tahini Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup yogurt

  • 1 Cup tahini

  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 1/4 Cup water

  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken in a large bowl and add all of the spices, olive oil, garlic cloves, and lemon juice. Toss well to coat the chicken. Cover the bowl in plastic wrap and set aside.

  2. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for 6 hours, or as long as overnight.

  3. Pre-heat the air fryer to 200

  4. Transfer the marinated chicken breasts to the air fryer basket and air-fry at 200ºF for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the chicken over halfway through the cooking process.

  5. Make the Sauce: Combine all of the sauce ingredients together and whisk well until soft and creamy. If the consistency is too thick, add more warm water. Season to taste with salt.

  6. Chop all vegetables green and refrigerate until ready to assemble the tacos.

  7. To assemble the shawarma tacos. Brush both sides of the soft tacos with olive oil in a skillet for 1-2 mins.

  8. Spread a little garlic sauce on the warm taco bread. Place the sliced chicken on the tacos and add toppings. Drizzle with a little more tahini sauce. Serve immediately.
