These Zaatar rolls are SO GOOD and make a great savoury breakfast baked goods, fantastic weekend brunch item, or even a quick lunch when paired with a bowl of soup.






Dough Ingredients:


  • 4 Cups of all purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon active yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 3/4 Cup Luke water.

Filling ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Zaatar

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 1 Cup shredded marble cheese (optional)


Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Pull dough into a large thin rectangle and place on a floured surface.

  • Cover the dough with a mixture of Za’atar mixture ( Za’atar and oil) all over the dough spreading it well, then add shredded cheese on top.

  • Starting with the longer side, roll into a large log . Gently pinch the seam together and roll over so that the seam is face down.

  • Cut log into 12 equal slices. Place in a greased 9x13 pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature for 30- 1 hour.

  • bake uncovered for approximately 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.

  • Transfer to baking sheet and cool for 15 min. Serve warm!
